Some more thesis sketches, this one is for a piece on the ostrich. Apparantly you can ride ostriches - definately want to try this before I die. ALSO they don't stick their heads in the ground to hide - total myth - instead they lay flat on the ground so that from a distance they look like a mound of dirt.

Thesis - Springboks
Time to start getting some stuff going here - I've been busy planning and starting on my thesis for my final year of illustration. I'll be illustrating some animals annnnnnd... animal hybrids. Because they're cool. (other reasons too, but mostly because cool).
Here's a look at the initial drawings for the springbok illustration.

Delicious Heart Cookies
Another day of sweetness adventuring. Today I made some delicious heart cookies! I painted them myself! (if you don't get the references, go watch Legend of Neil now, its a webshow about Legend of Zelda with comedic happenstances and old men tomfoolery)

Stamps!
I made some stamps yesterday to use on my packaging for Owl's Sushi. I've never made a stamp before, it was actually pretty easy and the result looks great! I just used a big eraser, draw my design on and cut out the negative using an exacto knife and carving tools.

Warm Welcomes
On my way into work every morning at my internship at Imagineering, I'm greeted by two things. The first is the golden arches on my way in to get my iced coffee for the day. I just noticed the other day what the welcome sign actually looks like (note pidgeon "deterrent" spikes). Sure makes you feel warm inside.
The inside of this McDonalds is actually really neat, it's the location at Bloor & Avenue Rd, across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum, so some of the wallpaper on the inside has dinosaur fossils. I'll snap a picture next time. It also has 3 floors and a patio.
But then, just a few doors over at my internship, I'm greeted by the lovely fellow who stands right outside the elevators waiting to say hello (he's dress up for summer and Canada Day):
